ADELAIDE has thrown its support behind coach Matthew Nicks after its semi-final exit.

The Crows were well beaten by Brisbane on Saturday night as their campaign came to an end at the Gabba.

Nicks' position as coach was reportedly under threat before the Crows' elimination final win over the Western Bulldogs.

But Nicks, who has been at the helm of Adelaide since 2020 and is contracted until the end of next year, has been backed by Crows chief executive Tim Silvers in a letter to members on Sunday.

"There has been considerable commentary and speculation about our senior coach's future in recent times but our position has not changed," Silvers wrote.

"We believe in Matthew Nicks, we trust the program he leads, and we remain aligned on our vision for the future.

"He will be our senior coach in 2027.

"Since taking over the men's program at the beginning of a significant and ambitious rebuild, 'Nicksy' has built a strong and positive culture, overseen the development and progression of young talent, and created an environment in which our people are connected, driven and committed to improving."

Last year, the Crows became the first minor premiers in 42 years to make a straight-sets finals exit.

The win over the Bulldogs was their first finals victory since 2017.
