WEST Coast has sealed a deal for Melbourne premiership duo Trent Rivers and Jack Viney in the final minutes of the trade period.
Rivers, a free agent next year, and Viney, who was told to explore his options, have landed at the Eagles in a complex deal that sees five picks change hands.
Defender/midfielder Rivers played in the Demons' 2021 flag and has featured in 140 AFL games.
Viney played a total of 238 senior games in the red and blue, following his father Todd as a father-son selection, No.26 overall, in the 2012 draft.

The Eagles parted with pick 45 in this year’s draft, round two and round four picks in 2027 and a round two draft pick in 2028 to complete the trade.
The Eagles will want to use Viney as an on-field leader for their young list, and his physical presence will no doubt be put to use protecting emerging superstar Harley Reid.
Viney was contracted at Melbourne until the end of 2028, but joins the Eagles on a four-year deal that includes a role as a coach, reports AFL.com.au's Josh Gabelich.
Viney reunites with West Coast coach Andrew McQualter and midfield coach Sam Radford, who he worked alongside from their time at the Demons.
"Once it became clear Jack was potentially available we were keen to add his experience and leadership to our playing group and we’re excited he is joining our club," recruiting boss Matt Clarke said.
"Jack’s reputation across the competition is as a person of the highest character who leads by example with his uncompromising standards and drive to be successful.
"He was a key part of a premiership team at Melbourne, and we believe he can have a significant and positive impact on our midfield mix and developing group on and off the field."
Rivers, who was drafted from East Fremantle, averaged 20 disposals in 17 appearances last season after missing some time with a knee injury.
He has signed a five-year deal at the Eagles.
“Trent is a player we have tracked for some time, and we’re excited he has joined our club,” Clarke said.
“He has shown at Melbourne he is a defender who can attack the game from half-back and he also has the versatility to play through the midfield.
“Trent adds more premiership experience to our squad and is in the right age demographic to contribute to our list for years to come.”
Melbourne list boss Tim Lamb thanked both players for their contributions to the Demons.
“Trent has been a valued member of our club, and we respect his decision to pursue an opportunity elsewhere,” Lamb said.
“As a premiership player, Trent has made a significant contribution to our club, both on and off the field.
“Jack has been a pillar of our football club for so many years.
“He is a ruthless competitor, an incredible leader and a significant part of our club's history.
“It’s always difficult to part ways with a player like Jack, and even more so a premiership vice-captain, but we believe this move is what’s best for Jack, as well as the long-term future of our club.
“Jack has given our members and fans so many incredible memories, and he will always be a Melbourne person who is welcome within our four walls.
