BRISBANE is another club to watch ahead of next month's Telstra AFL Draft, with the Lions a chance to orchestrate a pick swap as they look to bring their latest Academy talent to the club.
The Lions are looking to match a potential first-round bid on talented medium defender and Academy prospect Caylen Murray, who starred for the Allies during the 2026 Marsh AFL National Under-18 Boys Championships.

Murray is tipped to attract a bid inside the top 10 at November's draft and was No.10 in Cal Twomey's Phantom Form Guide this week, the ranking of the best draft prospects in the country.
Brisbane currently holds picks 21, 27 and 28 after its trade Deadline Day deal for Keidean Coleman and the pick swap it struck with Greater Western Sydney.
While picks 21 and 27 could well be enough to match the bid on Murray, AFL.com.au's Riley Beveridge says the Lions may want more.
"I want to know how creative Brisbane gets with their picks in the 20s," Beveridge said on Gettable on Wednesday.
"The Lions are the masters of the points ... 21 and 27 would allow them to match probably a later top-10 bid for Caylen Murray. But I reckon they'll get creative with that. I reckon they will get 21, 27 and 28 to try and amass more points. I don't think they'll go into the draft with 21 and 27 as their first two picks.
"How many more points can they get ... to match a Caylan Murray bid and potentially take another couple of players later on in the draft?"

Port Adelaide is another club to watch in the pick swaps window, which runs until November 6.
Port currently holds picks seven and 12 in order to match a bid on Dougie Cochrane, which is likely to come at pick one, but there is more room for it to move.
AFL.com.au flagged last week that the Power could put one of those picks on the table in exchange for a later pick this year and a 2027 pick and still have enough draft points to match a bid on Cochrane.
Melbourne confirmed last week it was open to doing a pick swap with the Power as it looks to move further up the draft board.
The Dees turned their pick six into pick four in the mega deal during the trade period and also hold pick 14, and list boss Tim Lamb told Continental Tyres AFL Trade Radio last Thursday they will speak to the Power about a swap ahead of the draft.
