Joyce, 29, was delisted by Brisbane at season's end after 14 games across four years for the Lions.

He played 13 games for St Kilda to begin his AFL career.

The Roos were searching for defensive depth during the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period but were unable to seal a deal for Adelaide's Nick Murray.

Former Essendon midfielder Elijah Tsatas and ex-Richmond ruck Samson Ryan are also expected to join the Roos as delisted free agents.

The delisted free agency window opened on Monday.

Jake Stringer (St Kilda), Wil Parker (Carlton) and Isaac Keeler (Port Adelaide) are among the other players expected to find new homes.
