ELIJAH Hollands is unlikely to play for Carlton again, having not returned to the club since suffering a mental health episode during the Blues' clash with Collingwood in round six.

Hollands, 24, was seen behaving erratically during the Blues' five-point loss to the Magpies at the MCG, and collected just one disposal despite playing 60 per cent of the game. He was taken from the field with 20 minutes to play in the final term.

Carlton was later fined $75,000 over its handling of the incident and the AFL made it mandatory for all 18 clubs to employ a full-time psychologist.

Hollands was admitted to hospital four days after the game, and Blues CEO Graham Wright told 3AW radio on Saturday that the 24-year-old was still receiving support.

When asked if Hollands was a chance to play for Carlton again, Wright said: "I doubt it.

"He’s still getting plenty of help and support and that’s coming through the club but also to wider than that.

"He hasn’t been back to the club and he’s considering what he does.

"But certainly, we’re just trying to be there and support him and we’ll work out what that looks like from a futuristic point of view a little bit later on.”

Hollands played six games this season, averaging 18.4 possessions before the Magpies game.

Last year, he twice took personal leave from Carlton, later revealing he had been battling mental ill-health and issues with alcohol.

The former Gold Coast player was delisted by the Blues at the end of last season, despite having a year to run on his contract.

But Hollands was invited to Carlton training over summer, impressing enough to win his spot back on the list.
