CHELSEA Randall has been ruled out of Adelaide’s do-or-die semi-final against Collingwood on Saturday.

Randall came off worse for wear after a tackle during last week’s qualifying final against Melbourne.

She then tripped over when walking back to take a free kick, prompting concussion concerns among spectators.

She left the field due to the blood rule and did not undergo a concussion test during the match, coach Matthew Clarke confirmed in his post-match interview.

She underwent concussion testing following the game, and was cleared of any adverse effects.

However, the Crows reviewed footage of the incident and - in consultation with the AFL's medical experts - have decided Randall will not play on Saturday.

Adelaide’s head of women’s football, Phil Harper, said the club was taking a conservative approach.

“Chelsea is the heart and soul of our team and we would obviously love to have her playing in such a big game however, we must and will always prioritise the health and wellbeing of our people, it’s of paramount importance,” Harper said.

“While she has not presented with any symptoms, we have now seen vision showing different angles of the incident that according to club and league medical experts gives grounds for her to not play under the AFL’s concussion rules.

“She is obviously very disappointed to be missing a final but in typical fashion, she is getting behind her team mates and doing all she can to help us get the win.”
