ADELAIDE superstar onballer Erin Phillips polled eight votes in round seven to win the 2019 Lucky Chicken Eggs AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year with 51 votes.

Fremantle's tackling machine Kiara Bowers closed the final margin to just five after being awarded 10 votes for her performance against North Melbourne, taking her final tally to 46.

Three midfielders – Crow Ebony Marinoff, Bulldog Monique Conti and Demon Karen Paxman – round out the top five.

Adelaide ruck Jess Foley was the only other player to poll 10 votes this weekend.

Phillips becomes the third winner of the award, after Adelaide teammate Chelsea Randall and former Bulldog Emma Kearney were joint winners last year. The award was not held in 2017, when Phillips swept the League's awards.
