THE AFL Digital Network's comprehensive coverage of the game has again been recognised at the annual Australian Football Media Association awards.

Reporters Riley Beveridge and Gemma Bastiani, photographer Michael Willson and Morgan Hancock, and AFLW player-led podcast Tagged all saluted at the event at Marvel Stadium on Tuesday night.

Beveridge won best AFLW reporter for his coverage that included a visa issue that forced Hawks star Aine McDonagh to leave the country, while Bastiani was recognised for best AFLW feature for her heartwarming piece on Crows and Suns midfielder Anne Hatchard's relationship with her once-estranged father.

AFL chief photographer Willson added another gong to his collection, winning the Best Feature Photo for his image of Geelong coach Chris Scott and Brisbane coach Chris Fagan embracing after the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

Willson wasn't the only AFL snapper to be recognised, with Hancock taking out the best action photo for his spectacular aerial shot of Ed Richards during the round 23 match against Carlton.

The AFL Digital Network's first player-led vodcast, Tagged, won the best football entertainment podcast. Hosted by AFLW players Sarah Hosking (Richmond), Sarah Rowe (Collingwood) and Jordy Allen (Collingwood) with regular segments from Emma O'Driscoll (Fremantle), Tagged provides a unique perspective on footy from those in the thick of it.

AFL.com.au reporter Josh Gabelich was given a commendable mention for best print/online feature reporting for his portfolio that included a profile of former Melbourne forward Austin Wonaeamirri, who's now making a difference in the Tiwi Islands.  

And columnist Bharat Sundaresan was also commended in the best diversity and inclusion category for his features on Western Bulldogs CEO Ameet Bains and Indian families celebrating Grand Final day in Adelaide. 

Gerard Whateley and Leigh Matthews were inducted as life members of the AFMA for their outstanding work as broadcasters over decades in the industry, while News Corp's Jay Clark won the evening's major gong, the Alf Brown Award, as the overall best media performer after also winning best AFL news reporter.
