THE FUTURE is so bright for AFLW leading goalkicker Jesse Wardlaw, the Brisbane forward is still eligible for selection in the AFLPA's AFLW 22Under22 team.

Wardlaw is one of five Lions named in the squad of 44, the second straight season the club has had the largest representation of any side.

Carlton, Geelong and the Western Bulldogs have four nominees apiece.

Alex Ballard, Hannah Ewings, Jasmine Fleming, Keeley Skepper, Montana Ham and Rylie Wilcox have been recognised for outstanding debut seasons with selection in the squad.

Comparatively seasoned veterans Alyce Parker, Monique Conti and Maddy Prespakis are gunning for their fourth 22Under22 selections.

The squad was selected by chair and former Adelaide premiership ruck Jess Foley and an AFLPA selection panel, with support from Champion Data.

Players are eligible for the squad if they have played 50 per cent of matches in season seven (five games), and are 22 or under for the entirety of the season, inclusive of the Grand Final.

The final team will be settled upon by a fan vote, with voting on the 22Under22 site open between November 9-16.
