Highlights: GWS v Gold Coast The Giants and Suns clash in round eight
It was a Giants' party on Saturday

It was a Giants' party on Saturday

GREATER Western Sydney has recorded its biggest winning margin to continue Gold Coast's woes, with a 91-point home thrashing of the Suns.

Forward Jeremy Cameron equalled his club record of seven goals, a mark he has achieved on four occasions, with the Giants strolling to a 22.17 (149) to 9.4 (58) victory.

The Giants controlled the game from the outset, scoring the first 20 points and kicking seven of the first eight goals.

It was the fourth time in their past five games the potent Giants had scored more than 125 points.

They now face a series of potentially far-tougher fixtures against other finals aspirants, the Western Bulldogs, Adelaide, Geelong and Sydney.

Coach Leon Cameron is holding off discussing his team's flag credentials knowing how difficult the next month of football will be.

"It's going to test us all," he said.

"Internally we're going to find out about our footy club in the next four weeks and we're playing some good footy, we can't deny that, but we're still a fair way away.

"Until you consistently rock up against the likes of the Kangaroos, the Swans, the Hawks, the Cats week after week it's very hard to judge us, but we're in a very good position and this month is probably going to tell how far we can go.

Injury plagued Gold Coast slumped to a fifth-straight loss and its third in a row by more than 70 points.

Rodney Eade wants everyone to be aware of the Suns' rising injury toll and how much of a hurdle it's been despite their bright start to the season.

"I said before this game that it was probably not like last year in that we thought we'd get players back," Eade said.

"Last year we knew they weren't coming back.

"Some troops will return but we're losing more on the run as well.

"I thought this was the low ebb, but with more today, next week might be the low ebb."

Five talking points: Greater Western Sydney v Gold Coast

GWS led by 21, 39 and 66 points at the three breaks.

Cameron's big haul was supplemented by three-goal efforts from Rhys Palmer and Rory Lobb.

Midfielder Jacob Hopper made an impressive debut for GWS, tallying 31 touches.

Brandon Matera and Jarrad Grant each kicked three goals for the Suns and Tom Lynch two, with Aaron Hall tallying 32 touches.

MEDICAL ROOM
Greater Western Sydney: The home side appeared to get through their big win unscathed.
Gold Coast: Adam Saad missed most of the second half with a hamstring strain so he'll likely be missing next week, with skipper Gary Ablett also very sore after the match.
