ADELAIDE will delay a decision on star midfielder Rory Sloane until 24 hours before Thursday night's qualifying final with Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval.

Sloane was restricted to riding an exercise bike at the club's main training session at Football Park on Monday morning.

The 27-year-old two-time club champion had his appendix removed last Tuesday.

"He trained away from the main group today and we'll get some feedback on how he went," Crows assistant coach David Teague said.

"Wednesday will probably the day a decision will be made.

"I'm not sure when we have to put a team in, but we'll give him every chance.

"We all know Rory and how tough he is and if he can play, I've got no doubt he'll put his hand up."

Teague said Sloane needed to get a medical clearance from the club's doctor and his specialist before he is considered to play.

"Rory's health is our priority," Teague said.

"Once he gets that tick, then it's up to Rory to make sure he's ready to go and play his role for the side."

In better news, Teague said Crows captain Taylor Walker (toe) and key defenders Daniel Talia (ankle) and Alex Keath (concussion) all completed training.

Rain is forecast for the clash with the Giants, conditions which would suit the Crows given their superb wet-weather form this season.

"We've started games really well in the wet this year," Teague said.

"We've probably simplified it, get the ball forward really quickly and it's worked for us.

"We're comfortable whether it's wet or dry, we think our game style can adjust slightly and it will hold up.

"We're not really fazed by the conditions, it's more about the way we play and our energy and our intensity early."

Teague was also unfazed when asked if he would consider putting his name up for the vacant senior coaching position at Gold Coast.

The 36-year-old has spent the past three seasons at the Crows as an assistant coach and has also had roles with Carlton, West Coast and St Kilda.

"Not at the moment, my priority now is Adelaide," Teague said.

"I'm really keen, I think it's really exciting what we've got here.

"It's something in the future that maybe I'll consider, but right now, I'm keen to see us do well and enjoy the next, hopefully four weeks of finals football."
