A mix of current and former AFL stars including; Steve Johnson, Tom Hawkins, Bryce Gibbs, Lenny Hayes, Sam Fisher, Daniel Wells, Michael Jamison, Adam Cooney, Tony Modra and Shane Crawford will be competing for ultimate bragging rights for their clubs when they tee off in the 2013 AFL Golf Championship at Yarra Yarra Golf Club in Melbourne.

Presented by the Crown Lager Social Golf Club, the online program which gives regular social golfers access to a casual handicap and some of Australia’s finest golf courses, the AFL Golf Championship will see all AFL clubs competing head to head for great prizes on the eve of the first game.

Entry is free on the day and the public are invited to watch their favourite past and present AFL players battle it out on the course, plus they’ll also have the opportunity to take home $100,000 if they can chip accurately from 20 meters.

All AFL clubs will be represented and teams with training scheduled will be calling on past legends such as Tony Modra, Peter Bell, Paul Licuria and Jo Misiti to swing the clubs on their behalf. In a coup, North Melbourne have secured the services of Australian PGA Champion, Daniel Popovic on their team.

Fans will also have the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favourite players and pull on the proverbial jumper for their team. Each AFL club's best three golfers will be joined by one supporter who must have a handicap of 18 or lower.

The competition is set to be fierce with St Kilda's Sam Fisher, Geelong’s Steve Johnson, and Harry Taylor, North’s Daniel Wells and Hawks legend Shane Crawford all out to spoil the party for the last year’s victors Tony Modra and Wayne Weidemann from the Adelaide Crows who are back again to defend their title.

The AFL Golf Championship tees off at 1:15pm and registrations open for the $100,000 chipping challenge at 1:00pm.
