The Melbourne Football Club is the oldest sporting club in the world and the founding club of the AFL. With over 30,000 members, the Club, competes in a 22 round plus finals competition and is based at Australia’s sporting icon, the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Club has gone through a period of significant change and has embarked on an exciting new journey to create a sustainable and ultimately successful sporting organisation.

We are seeking an energetic Events Executive to coordinate and oversee a selection of our non-match day and match day events program. Working in a highly customer focused environment and as part of the MFC commercial team, the Events Executive will be responsible for delivering world class event and hospitality experiences.

Specifically within this role responsibilities will include:
  • “End to End” management of all aspects of Melbourne Football Club non-match day events including, but not limited to, Family Day, Season Launch, Business of Sport Luncheon, Foundation Heroes, Best and Fairest Night and Golf Day
  • “End to End” management of Melbourne Football Club match day hospitality products including Presidents, Members functions, Corporate Suites, Open Air corporate boxes, and BBQ Marquee
  • Management of Melbourne Football Club “Melbourne Business Community” program
  • Working with the Sales department, manage the process of fulfillment to corporate clients around these events
  • Design and maintain the MFC hospitality and events calendar
  • Assist in the process of organizing events for various internal departments
  • Develop business plans for current and new hospitality and event activities, including the identification of any efficiency across supplier relationships that can be made
  • Budget management and control
Experience and interest in event management and strong organisational and communication skills are a must. You will have relevant tertiary qualifications and 2+ years experience in a sporting environment. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic who will bring fresh ideas to the table to keep the hospitality and events program moving in the right direction.

If you are passionate about sports and AFL, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong commitment to service orientation and team work you may be an ideal candidate for this role.

Successful candidates will require a current Working With Children Check and Drivers Licence. There is also a requirement to assist on match days and other events as required by the Club, which include weekends.
