HERE we are. The first of the multi-bye rounds is upon us with six teams enjoying their week off.

Fantasy coaches keen to score as well as they can throughout this three-week period are scrambling to put their squad together with, theoretically, a third of their players on the sidelines this round.

Of course every coach’s squad will be structured differently, but as many popular players are missing this week, it is vital that trades are made to maximise points on the ground.

It is also important that you don’t lose sight of how many players you will have available in rounds 12 and 12.

The strategy of bringing in Gold Coast and Port Adelaide players has been adopted by quite a few coaches over the last fortnight.

Michael Barlow and Aaron Hall have featured in the most traded in players due to the fact they, selection and injury permitting, will play through each of the multi-bye rounds.

Gary Ablett is likely to be a highly selected premium option if he makes his return.

Another Thursday night game greets us this weekend.

If you wish to bring in a Port Adelaide or Hawthorn player, you must do so before the bounce at 7:20pm ACST. This also applies to your captain, vice-captain and emergencies. Once the game starts, your Power and Hawks players are locked in.

You can edit the rest of your team up until the Friday night game commences at 7:50pm AEST. This includes players who have their bye this weekend. If you want to trade out a Lion or move a Bulldog to your bench, for example, you can do so up until the full lock-out at the start of Friday night’s Geelong v Adelaide game.
