GOLD Coast is closing in on finalising its blockbuster trades after settling the deal to bring Pearce Hanley to the club.

Young guns Jaeger O'Meara and Dion Prestia are set to join Hawthorn and Richmond respectively.

Suns football manager Marcus Ashcroft told AFL.com.au talks would continue with the Hawks on Tuesday, after Alastair Clarkson's men completed a swap to send Jordan Lewis to Melbourne

"We've got a few (meetings) on today with Jaeger and Hawthorn and his management, so hopefully by the end of today we'll get a bit closer to an outcome that is right for all parties," Ashcroft said.

O'Meara, 22, hasn't played for the Suns since 2014 after being hampered by persistent knee injuries.

The 2013 NAB AFL Rising Star managed three NEAFL games earlier this year before surgery ended his season.

Gold Coast chairman Tony Cochrane declared earlier this year the Suns would send O'Meara to the pre-season draft if an appropriate trade could not be reached. The club has made it clear it wants a mature-aged player.

"Dion we think will be similar, we're not too far away from getting him locked in," Ashcroft said.

Gold Coast wants a straight swap for Richmond's No. 6 selection in return for Prestia, while the Tigers want to bring in a second-round pick. Gold Coast currently holds picks No. 24 and 26.

It lost No.30 to Port Adelaide in the three-way deal that saw Hanley leave the Lions.

The Suns also want to bring Collingwood ruckman Jarrod Witts. The 24-year-old is out of contract and played only two games in the senior team this season.

"We're just trying to get the finer details confirmed," Ashcroft said.
