WEST Coast has no injury concerns ahead of Saturday's Grand Final, with vice-captain Scott Selwood looking set to miss out on selection unless there is a training mishap this week.
The Eagles had 42 players participate in a light skills sessions at Domain Stadium on Monday in front of an estimated crowd of 10,000 fans who turned up to cheer on their heroes on a public holiday in Perth.
All 22 players that played in the preliminary final win over North Melbourne were out on the track. The players trained for just over half an hour, participating in some light running and stationary skills.
Chris Masten was out on the track and moving freely after he was subbed out of the preliminary final early in the last quarter of his first game back from a hamstring injury.
Eagles aim for normality in Grand Final week
Eagles coach Adam Simpson said post-match that the decision to sub Masten was precautionary, given he had played just one quarter of football since round 20 due to a two-game suspension and the hamstring injury he suffered in the first quarter of the round 23 clash with St Kilda.
If the Eagles go into the Grand Final against Hawthorn unchanged it would mean that Selwood, one of the club's two vice-captains and the Eagles 2012 best and fairest winner, would miss out on selection.
Selwood's future has been the subject of major speculation this season.
He is uncontracted for next year and is set to become a restricted free agent. The 25-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Geelong to play alongside brother Joel.
Eagles skipper Shannon Hurn said Selwood would prepare professionally and diligently this week to ensure he is ready to play if required.
"Funny things could happen during the week," Hurn said.
"He hasn't changed the way he's gone about his footy. He's always worked hard. He's always very diligent around the club, helping other players.
"He's had a couple of setbacks unfortunately with his ankle this year and last year, but he's grown as a person, and added a lot of value to the club.
“Unfortunately with the situation, being a Grand Final, sometimes players miss out.
"If that's the case, it's very unfortunate. But it's all about the squad."
The Eagles will hold another open training session on Tuesday morning. They will hold a closed session on Wednesday before travelling to Melbourne on Thursday afternoon. They will also hold a closed session at the MCG on Friday.
