Richardson, who has managed the careers of some of footy's biggest names for over a decade with Craig Kelly's Elite Sports Properties, will join the Tigers as the club's new football manager in the coming weeks.
He takes over from Craig Cameron, who recently accepted a job in the horse racing industry.

Richardson comes to the club with a rich Tiger heritage.
He is the son of three-time Richmond premiership player, Tiger coach, former club president and Hall of Fame inductee, Barry Richardson.
"Dan is an outstanding character and is highly respected within the football industry," Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said on Monday afternoon.
"Further, his talent and experience will be of great benefit to our club."
Richardson's former boss Craig Kelly said he supported Richardson's move and said Richmond had acquired a quality person who was well suited to the job.
Richardson played in six premierships with Old Xaverians in A-grade amateurs and is a life member of that club.
He is expected to begin with the Tigers before the end of March.
Richmond has not appeared in the finals since 2001 but declared on Sunday that it was ready to take the next step and enjoy September action in 2013.
