THE AFL's newest promotional campaign was shot in a number of international locations and is once again supported by iconic Australian rock band AC/DC's It's a Long Way to the Top (if you wanna rock 'n' roll).

The League unveiled its 2013 campaign on Friday, which captures the highlights of "Australia's game" and the reactions of people from Buenos Aires, Houston, New York City, Wales and Shanghai seeing the game for the first time.

AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou said the advertisement encapsulates what makes Australian rules football so great.

"The Australia’s Game campaign continues to celebrate our national competition as this country's only Indigenous sporting code while highlighting the many extraordinary threads throughout the game," Demetriou said.

"With AFL matches played across the country involving players and fans from every conceivable walk of life, a campaign centred on the next step of Australia’s Game was the obvious choice.

"This year’s campaign takes us beyond our own country and reminds us why Australian football is truly great and uniquely Australian."

Some of the moments shown in the advertisement include the soaring marks of Jeremy Howe and Andrew Walker from last season and Nick Riewoldt's remarkable grab against the Sydney Swans in 2004.

Demetriou said the advertisement not only has national interest, but also worldwide appeal.

"Ultimately this campaign reminds us that this is our national game, a game with amazing elements that makes it extraordinary, and not just in the eyes of our own fans."
