ADELAIDE defender Luke Brown has been cleared of a fracture in his left foot after he injured it against Essendon in the season opener at AAMI Stadium on Friday night.

There had been fears the 20-year-old had suffered a break during the Crows' 35-point loss to the Bombers, but scans revealed he had just sustained bone bruising.

A club official confirmed the diagnosis to AFL.com.au on Sunday afternoon.

Brown, who played just his fourth senior game on Friday night, is expected to be available for Adelaide's next trip to Brisbane, where the Crows play the Lions at the Gabba on April 6.
