MICHAEL Voss will again seek clarification from umpire's boss Jeff Gieschen after losing another free kick count.

 

Against the Suns on Saturday night, the Lions lost the free kick count 21-15.

Voss said he was concerned about losing the count for the fourth straight match – and the ninth time in 14 this season.

The Lions' coach was most worried about not getting "the rub of the green" from the umpires during matches, and said he had to get to the bottom of it.

The Lions have the third worst free kick differential in the competition (minus 2.2 per game), with only Carlton (-2.3) and St Kilda (-4.6) worse off.

 

They concede the second most free kicks (20.4 per game) in the League.

 

"There's some really obvious things that are happening that don't seem to be getting adjudicated exactly the same way for both sides," he said.

 

"This has been happening over a long period of time. This is no isolated weekend.

 

"I don't know if we can be that unlucky over that long period of time. There's clearly things we're doing but there's clearly things we need clarification on as well."

 

The Lions play rejuvenated North Melbourne at the Gabba on Saturday, and Voss said they had learnt plenty from a 63-point hiding suffered in round four.

 

Brent Moloney (calf) and Mitch Golby (bruised lung) will get scanned on Monday to assess the severity of their injuries.
