RICHMOND'S Shaun Grigg has re-signed with the Tigers for a further two years, tying him to the club until the end of 2015.

The 25-year-old Grigg has been a vital cog in the Tigers' midfield as the club has risen from the bottom of the ladder.

He joined Richmond in 2011, seeking opportunities after four years and 43 games (including one final) with Carlton, and has been an outstanding success.

Grigg has missed just one game in that time and has played 62 matches for 31 wins.

A solid inside midfielder, he was fifth in Richmond's best and fairest in 2012 and earned 11 Brownlow votes.

Having recently played his 100th game and about to be part of Richmond's first finals series since 2001, Grigg has established himself as a vital cog in the club's resurgence.

Richmond’s General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson told richmondfc.com.au that Grigg had been a great addition to the Tigers as a player, a person of great character and someone highly regarded by his peers

"He has become an important member of the team with his ability to find space and use the ball efficiently, as well as providing valuable leadership skills to the playing group, " Richardson said.?

"We would like to acknowledge Shaun’s management team, led by Alex McDonald, for the professional manner in which the discussions were conducted."

The Tigers are yet to strike new deals for midfielders Dustin Martin and Reece Conca, although both are understood to be keen to stay at Punt Road.
