A CLOUD hangs over the future of West Coast veteran Daniel Kerr in the aftermath of the Eagles' wretched season.

Kerr did not play for the Eagles after round 14 due to ongoing knee problems. The 30-year-old played two matches in the WAFL before being sent for surgery.

Kerr's manager Colin Young revealed on 6PR on Monday the surgery had identified one of the issues.

"They found some floating bone last week in his knee," Young said.

"They fixed that up. He thinks he might be pretty good."

The 2007 All Australian is contracted for 2014 but Young revealed Kerr had spoken to the Eagles playing group about his future on Monday.

"Just in case there's a slight chance he might be retiring, he had an each-way bet by speaking to the group," Young said.

"There's a chance he might be retiring but there's also a chance he might not. It's pretty hard to say either way at the moment.

"On any given day he feels 120 per cent and then the next day obviously he's a little bit sore.

"I think John (Worsfold) and Daniel have had quite a few meetings over the last 10-12 weeks to make sure that they've monitored him right and they've played things accordingly."

Young said the discussions between Kerr, list manager Craig Vozzo, the football department and medical staff were ongoing as further tests were carried out. From those discussions, a decision on Kerr's future was likely to be made in the next fortnight.

"I expect to hear some information back from Craig and the football department in the next seven to 10 days," he said.
