STEPHEN Milne has confirmed his football career will continue in 2014 after signing with Bendigo League club Strathfieldsaye.
The 33-year-old was believed to have been targeted by a number of lower league clubs following the end of his days as a St Kilda player in September.
The Strathfieldsaye Storm secured the 275-game forward this week after he returned from an overseas holiday.
"To have a player of Stephen's calibre, straight out of the AFL, is not only huge for our club but for the competition as a whole," Storm football operations manager Bruce Duncan said.
"We are expecting an influx of spectators to witness his high level of skills.
"Stephen has been a keen visitor to club in seasons past. He's been involved in running kids clinics and has been to our finals games in the previous two years.
"Our young squad of players and coaching staff can't wait to be involved with a player of Stephen's ilk."
Former Carlton and Brisbane Lions forward Brendan Fevola has been a huge draw card for the Yarrawonga Pigeons in the Ovens and Murray League for the past two seasons.
Milne is believed to have a friendship with the coach of Strathfieldsaye, Darryl Wilson.
The former Saint will face the Melbourne Magistrates' Court in November, charged with four counts of rape over allegations dating back to 2004, over which he has maintained his innocence.
He played his last game for St Kilda in round 23, going out alongside retiring teammates Justin Koschitzke and Jason Blake.
He kicked 574 goals across his 13-year AFL career.
