GREATER Western Sydney has added three premiership players to its leadership group for next season.

New recruits Heath Shaw, a Collingwood premiership player in 2010 and Shane Mumford, who played with the Swans team that beat the Hawks two years later in the Grand Final, have been elevated straight into the leadership group at the Giants.

They will be joined by defender Stephen Gilham, in his second year with the club, and who played with Hawthorn when it won the flag in 2008.

2013 leaders Callan Ward, Phil Davis and Tom Scully remain in the leadership group for another season although final roles, including those of captain and vice-captain, will not be announced until the new year.

Incoming Giants coach Leon Cameron said the elevation of Shaw, Mumford and Gilham would add experience to the leadership group and help develop the club’s young players.

"These three guys are premiership players at the clubs they’ve previously been at but they also offer 10 years of experience in football generally and not only on the field but off the field," said Cameron.

GWS has also announced an emerging leaders group, comprising Stephen Coniglio, Devon Smith, Adam Treloar, Jeremy Cameron, Dylan Shiel, Curtly Hampton, Matt Buntine and Jonathan Giles.
