WESTERN Bulldogs forward Tory Dickson has had surgery on his injured pectoral and will miss the next eight to 10 weeks.

The 26-year-old was subbed off in the second term of last Saturday night's win over Melbourne after rupturing the pectoral muscle on his left side.

Dickson went under the knife on Tuesday to repair the damage and will begin his rehabilitation program next week.

Meanwhile the Bulldogs' bye weekend couldn't come at a better time for Tom Williams after he strained his calf against Melbourne.

Scans on Monday showed a slight strain his right calf which will be monitored next week ahead of the round 10 clash against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium.

There is more good news for the Bulldogs with key defender Jordan Roughead set to resume full training next week after injuring the AC joint in his shoulder in round three.
