CLINTON Young believes he's finally found his feet at Collingwood and says he wants to finish his career as a Magpie.

A nightmare run with injuries restricted the former Hawk to just two games last season – the first of a three-year deal with the Pies.

But he's given a significantly better return on investment in 10 games this year and Young told AFL.com.au that he wants to end his career in black and white.

"Absolutely, I'm loving it here," the 28-year-old said.

"Last year was injury-riddled but it's good to be back playing week-in, week-out."

A 2008 premiership player, Young joined Collingwood as an unrestricted free agent following Hawthorn's 2012 Grand Final loss.

A succession of leg injuries crippled him last year, but the left footer is starting to rediscover his best form.

After eight games for the Pies, Young had only notched more than 20 disposals once.

But he's strung together consecutive 26-possession performances against St Kilda and Melbourne in the past two games.

He took a combined 23 uncontested marks in those two triumphs, suggesting he's finding his niche as an outside runner to complement the Pies' powerful engine room.

"I think it's taken me a while to adapt to week-in, week-out with the boys. But it's good to be covering the ground and running well, so that's why I'm getting a few more touches," he said.

"I've always been a link-up player, so if I can run hard, get the ball and get it down to the forwards, that’s my role."

Collingwood will be aiming for four-straight wins against the under pressure Western Bulldogs on Sunday.

The Dogs have come under increasing scrutiny from impatient fans in recent weeks and Young expects a fierce contest at Etihad Stadium.

"I think when you get (criticised) it does galvanise you and you want to prove to your supporters and your club how well you're coming along. So I think they will be coming out and putting their best foot forward this week," he said.

The Pies know what it's like to be under the pump this season.

But Nathan Buckley's men have recovered from 1-2 to climb into fourth spot on the ladder with an 8-3 record.

"We started the season off poorly against Fremantle (with a 70-point loss in round one) but we've got belief in where we're going," Young said.

"We put a big emphasis on the pre-season about the type of game we want to play and we're starting to see that come through now.

"There's a lot of young players playing for us as well - all the boys are playing well at the moment and there's great confidence and belief amongst the playing group."
