SACKED Carlton youngster Josh Bootsma is eligible to resume his career with WAFL side Peel Thunder after a transfer from South Fremantle was completed this week.

The Blues terminated the 21-year-old's AFL contract on June 3 due to a number of disciplinary indiscretions, the last of which involved posting explicit photos via social media.

Under WAFL rules South Fremantle was able to list Bootsma, as he had played 13 WAFL colts matches with the club in 2011.

But Bootsma's management revealed last week that the youngster wanted to play for Peel due to family reasons.

South Fremantle and Peel Thunder agreed to terms and Bootsma is now eligible to play for Fremantle's affiliate WAFL club.

Bootsma's management told AFL.com.au last week that he was currently in Melbourne with his partner and new baby and would return to Perth in mid-July to play for Peel and pursue work outside of football.
