CARLTON is set to sign forward Jason Tutt in the pre-season draft after the Western Bulldogs reportedly agreed to release the speedster.

The Blues chased the 23-year-old and Bulldogs forward Liam Jones in the recent NAB AFL Trade Period, but only Jones made it to Visy Park.

However, Tutt's manager Nick Gieschen has told the Herald Sun that Tutt is also headed to Carlton.

"He is definitely going to Carlton, we have got it sorted out in the last few days," Gieschen said.

"The Dogs wanted to give the new coach the chance to sit down with him, but they knew he was keen to go so they released him."

The Blues have reportedly offered Tutt a two-year deal and hope to pick him up in the pre-season draft on December 3.

Tutt has played 26 games and booted 22 goals for the Dogs since he was taken with pick No.31 in the 2009 draft.

He would be the fifth player Carlton has recruited from rival clubs this off-sesaon following the acquisitions of Kristian Jaksch (GWS), Mark Whiley (GWS), Matthew Dick (Sydney Swans) and Jones.

The Blues are expecting to use picks 19, 28, 61 and 65 in the upcoming national draft on November 27.
