WEST COAST duo Callum Sinclair and Elliot Yeo made successful returns to training on Monday following significant hand injuries.

Sinclair suffered a compound dislocation of his finger before Christmas while Yeo had reinjured the thumb he broke in round 13 against Gold Coast last season.

Both players participated fully in the lengthy match simulation session at Patersons Stadium.

More than half of the squad were involved in the full ground session and AFL umpire Luke Farmer officiated proceedings in conjunction with Simpson's instructions.

There was an injury scare for defender Will Schofield when he appeared to tweak his right ankle when tackled from behind. He left the track immediately after the incident but the injury is understood to be minor.

Injured trio Jack Darling (foot), Scott Selwood (ankle) and Mark Hutchings (groin) appeared briefly at the start of the two-and-a-half-hour session to participate in handball drills before heading back to the rooms.

Jeremy McGovern (hip), Xavier Ellis (AC joint), Murray Newman (knee) and Jamie Bennell (hamstring) all participated in running away from the main group before joining draftees Damien Cavka and Jackson Nelson in some ball movement drills at the end of training.

Cavka, Nelson, Tom Lamb and Alec Waterman were on lighter duties.
