LESS flair. More consistency. That's the goal for Collingwood forward Jesse White heading into 2015.

Speaking on AFL.com.au's First Bounce on Thursday, White said he was lighter and fitter heading into the new season, having shed "about seven or eight kilograms."

He said a major focus of his pre-season regimen had been to do more running, and looking particularly svelte, he kicked two goals and moved well in Collingwood's NAB Challenge opener against Hawthorn a fortnight ago.

"I had a few games that were good but I want to be consistent this year so I felt I had to get fitter and cover the ground better," he said.

"The way footy is heading you have to be fitter."

The 27-year-old former Swan admits he has a flair for the spectacular at times.

“But I need to bring some consistency into my game, to go a long way towards having a better season," he said.

White was at Collingwood's season launch on Wednesday night, at which club president Eddie McGuire boldly predicted the Pies could win the flag this year.

"It inspired the boys," he said.

"We started well (in the NAB Challenge) and hopefully will take that into the season."

White suffered a minor corked thigh at training last week, but expects to play in Collingwood's NAB Challenge clash with Carlton in Bendigo on Sunday.
