GOLD Coast is close to re-signing vastly improved midfielder Aaron Hall.

Hall is out of contract and believed to be attracting interest from a number of the clubs, but the Suns are confident the 24-year-old will re-commit.

"We have a contract offer on the table for Aaron," general manager of football operations Marcus Ashcroft said.

"We are working through finalising this with his management at the moment."

Amidst an injury crisis that decimated its midfield, Hall was a breath of fresh air for Gold Coast late in the year.

He moved from half-forward to midfield in the final seven weeks and averaged 27 disposals.

His acceleration out of stoppages gave the Suns a different edge as their form stabilised late in the year.

Out of contract ruckmen Zac Smith and Daniel Gorringe are in limbo though, both searching for new opportunities.

The Suns have kept the door opening to re-signing them, but on evidence from 2015, both would be relying on injuries to teammates to get an extended chance in the seniors next season.
