ST KILDA has delisted young forward Spencer White, giving up on the mercurial tall who was once seen as the club's future and compared to superstar Lance Franklin.

Boasting an electrifying highlights reel as a junior with the Western Jets, White was never able to convert to the AFL level and has been cut after just two games in three seasons.

The 20-year-old is one of four Saints delisted ahead of the October 31 deadline, with half-forward Arryn Siposs, defender Tom Simpkin and midfielder Daniel Markworth all shown the door.

Retired veteran Adam Schneider, who was on the rookie list in 2015, takes the total number of list changes to five ahead of the 2015 NAB AFL Draft.

One spot on the senior list will be used to promote impressive young half-forward Jack Sinclair, giving the Saints three vacancies ahead of the 2015 draft.

Season review: St Kilda

"All four players have shown tremendous character right throughout their time at St Kilda, even when things did not go their way through injury or form," Saints list manager Ameet Bains said.

"It is never easy for players to be given this type of news and we thank them for their contributions to the club and wish them well for their future endeavours."

White was compared to Franklin in his draft year of 2012 because of his blistering pace, high-flying ability and knack for snapping brilliant goals at underage level.

Eventually recruited with pick No.25 in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft, he found the Franklin comparison daunting, telling AFL.com.au in 2012 "It doesn’t mean anything until I play in the AFL".

White spent most of 2015 in the VFL development league and his season finished in round 21 because of a calf injury.

Siposs, who played 28 games in five seasons with the Saints, was drafted with pick No.75 at the 2010 draft and won a Rising Star nomination in 2012.

Plagued by shoulder injuries in each of the past three seasons, the 22-year-old finished 2015 in Sandringham's VFL team after stints in the development league.

Simpkin, an aggressive tall defender, was elevated from the rookie list in 2011 and played 31 games, including 19 in 2012.

Markworth, who was taken with pick No.35 at the 2011 NAB AFL Draft, didn’t play at AFL level after four injury-riddled seasons on the St Kilda list.
