AXED Collingwood forward Travis Cloke has dispelled rumours he is considering leaving the Magpies after being banished to the VFL.

The 29-year-old was dropped for the Anzac Day blockbuster against Essendon and has since featured in the Magpies' VFL squad in a bid to regain his goalkicking prowess.

Cloke dismissed speculation about his playing future on Monday, throwing his support behind embattled coach Nathan Buckley.

"There's absolutely no truth (about leaving Collingwood). I'm contracted until the end of next year. I find it interesting and have a bit of a giggle (about it)," Cloke said.

"At the same time, I love this club (and) I love my coach, Nathan. The reason I stayed at this club originally was because of 'Bucks' and this footy club, so I don't have a reason to look elsewhere."

After playing in the VFL side's previous two rounds, Cloke was a late withdrawal in the 67-point loss to Sandringham last Saturday due to a back complaint.

Cloke said he pulled out of the match as a precaution but had recovered well from the minor setback.

"I've had improvement over the last couple of days," he said.

"(I) just woke up a bit uncomfortable on Saturday morning, a bit nervy, so the medical staff just said what was best for me was to sit this one out."

Cloke has done little to demand a senior recall from his VFL appearances, kicking a total of three goals from his two hit-outs.

Although Cloke was unable to pinpoint when he would return to the senior side, the 237-gamer said his sole objective was on regaining his appetite for the contest.

"I’m not really putting a date on it. I just want to put a good block of footy together," Cloke said.

"When I'm required to step up and play AFL football, I'll get that call and nod from Bucks.

"I do look forward to it, I'm eagerly awaiting and looking forward to playing in the seniors but at the same time there are processes in place."

Cloke re-signed with the Magpies in 2012, tying him to the club until the end of next season.

He kicked five goals in the opening four rounds of this season, before being omitted against the Bombers in round five.
