A GOLD Coast fan who was involved in a heated argument with skipper Gary Ablett last Saturday is no longer a club member.

A statement on the Suns website said both parties came to a joint agreement following the incident after the home team's loss to Melbourne, when Ablett was seen attempting to placate the man as the teams prepared to leave Metricon Stadium.

"The matter was referred to the member code of conduct and as a result, both parties have agreed to a suitable resolution," the statement read.

"The member concerned has apologised for his behaviour and has ceased his membership with the club.

"The club believes supporting your team and being emotionally invested in the match is a vital part of the game, however we will protect the family friendly environment we have, and our members expect, at Metricon Stadium."

Gold Coast suffered a 73-point loss to the Demons and Ablett's form has been questioned by a number of commentators over the past month.

They face Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium in the Saturday twilight game.
