CARLTON is one of several clubs interested in talented out-of-contract forward Nathan Hrovat as he weighs up his future following the Western Bulldogs' premiership on Saturday.

The 22-year-old has had no luck with injury since making his debut with the Bulldogs in round nine, 2013 and has been restricted to just 30 games in his first four seasons.

He played just four games this season after suffering foot and shoulder problems and, despite starring against Essendon in the VFL semi-final, was unable to play in the team's VFL premiership because of his shoulder.

Key dates for the NAB AFL Trade Period

Hrovat is expected to meet with the Western Bulldogs on Tuesday for his end-of-season review and will weigh up his options during the NAB AFL Trade Period, which begins next Monday.

While he is not yet certain to leave the club that used pick No.21 to choose him in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft, the Western Bulldogs are expected to help him reach his destination during the trade period if he decides to seek opportunities elsewhere.

AFL.com.au understands that Hrovat, a talented high half-forward who played with the Northern Knights in the TAC Cup, has also attracted interest from clubs outside Victoria.

The Western Bulldogs are expected to re-sign premiership forward Clay Smith and will allow veteran Matthew Boyd to make his own decision about whether he continues into 2017.
