Key dates for the NAB AFL Trade Period
Indicative draft order: What picks will your club take to the draft

THERE'S a very good chance that Fremantle midfielder Michael Barlow may be playing for another club in 2017, his manager Marty Pask says.

The uncontracted Barlow is set to explore his options after playing 13 games for the Dockers this year and being dropped at stages during the season.

Gold Coast is one club the 28-year-old, who averaged 24.5 disposals during 2016, has been linked with.

"He's by no means out at Fremantle, but an interesting question at the moment is what Fremantle want to do with their list," Pask told SEN radio.

"Whether they want to get younger, whether or not there's younger players that need opportunity.

"All those sorts of mature discussions are taking place and if that means Mick gets an opportunity elsewhere, we'd certainly look at it."

Pask expects the discussions surrounding Barlow, who finished eighth in the Dockers' best and fairest count, to take some time to be finalised.

"That's something that plays out over the next couple of weeks when clubs can get together properly, now the Combine's over and done with and they can fully put their attention to the trade period," Pask said.

"There's a very good chance that he could potentially find another club."

Pask, from i50 management, is also the manager of Gold Coast midfielder Dion Prestia, who has requested to be traded to Richmond.

The Tigers' first-round draft pick (currently pick No.6) in this year's draft is expected to come into the equation in the Prestia talks.

Prestia was originally pick No.9 in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft.

"We fully intend for him to get to Richmond and expect that to be the case," Pask said.

"It was key for us and in particular Dion that he didn't want the deal to drag out and have to bring in other clubs (to the deal)."

But Pask said he hoped any deal involving Prestia would not be tied to Jaeger O'Meara getting to Hawthorn.

"I would honestly suspect the deal will be stand-alone and something between the two parties," he said.
