ST KILDA midfielder Nathan Freeman will miss at least two weeks with a right ankle injury he suffered in the VFL last Saturday against Geelong.

Freeman, 22, will have further scans this week to determine the full extent of the injury.

The speedster suffered the injury in the first quarter when a teammate fell into his leg. He did not play the rest of the game and finished with two disposals.

The former Collingwood player was drafted at No.10 in 2013 and was with the Magpies for two seasons before being traded for a future second-round selection at the end of 2015.

He is yet to make his debut with the Saints but has been racking up the footy with Sandringham recently.

While Freeman's troublesome hamstrings have not plagued him in 2017, he dealt with a hip concern in the pre-season and back stiffness caused him to miss a game earlier this month.
