AFLW: Six clubs elevate rookies ahead of opener

SIX OF the eight teams have made injury-related list changes before the start of the NAB AFL Women's competition on Friday night.

The Brisbane Lions have elevated Gabby Collingwood for the injured Renee Cowan, while the Magpies have brought ex-volleyball player Eliza Hynes and Holly Whitford onto the list for Darcy Guttridge and Ashleigh Brazill.

Fremantle has elevated Lisa Webb for Kiara Bowers; Greater Western Sydney has added Elle Bennetts in place of Alexandra Saundry, and Melbourne has brought in Erin Hoare for Ainslie Kemp.

The Western Bulldogs have added Bonnie Toogood and Naomi Ferres to their list to replace Ellyse Gamble and Kim Ebb.

Players on injury lists can be elevated back onto the main list at any time during the season.

Teams for the first round of matches will be released on AFL.com.au/womens at around 6pm AEDT Thursday.
