RICHMOND has jumped quickly to lock away premiership hero Jack Graham, re-signing the young midfielder until the end of 2020.

It is understood Graham, who was due to come out of contract at the end of this season, has signed a two-year extension to stay at Punt Road Oval.

The 19-year-old played five games in his debut season but was one of the stars on Grand Final day, kicking three goals and shutting down Adelaide star Rory Sloane during a crucial period of the game.

By signing the South Australian ahead of the season, the Tigers have seen off any offers that might have come from Graham's home state in 2018.

Richmond is bullish about the big-bodied youngster's prospects this year with a clean bill of health after a serious ankle injury sidelined him for the first half of last season.

Graham was able to return through the VFL in round 13 and play seven games at state level before forcing himself into the senior side in round 22 and holding his place through the finals.

Now a premiership player and a Richmond life member, following changes to the club's constitution, he is yet to play in a losing Richmond side.

Premiership player and gun defender Dylan Grimes remains unsigned beyond 2018 after last signing an extension in 2015.

Half-back Bachar Houli also comes out of contract at the end of this season, while defender Nathan Broad and midfielder Shaun Grigg signed one-year deals for 2018.

Midfielders Oleg Markov and Corey Ellis, small forward Shai Bolton and defender Ryan Garthwaite are young Tigers coming out of contract this season.
