IT IS AFL Fantasy Draft season and last weekend the Ultimate Bragging Rights League held their sixth annual draft with an epic event on the Gold Coast.

The league of fourteen mates who share their love of AFL and Fantasy football hired a Broadbeach mansion to host the weekend that was about more than just drafting.

In their yearly catch up, the coaches from all corners of the country made a weekend of it.

The 2017 league winner oversaw organising the weekend and flew The Traders up there to see how it was done.

Three of the UBRL coaches won the opportunity to have one of us as an assistant coach for Draft night.

Last year’s wooden spooner was Kristian, and his fortunes changed when he chose Roy as his right-hand man. Fish grabbed his buddy Calvin, and Tomsy was ably supported by Warnie.

Coaches were drawn a wrestler to cheer on in a computer simulation of a WWE Royal Rumble.

Kristian’s luck continued as walked away with pick No.1, and later that evening, Tom Mitchell leading his team. He drafted well thanks to the help of Roy and is likely to go from zero to hero this season.

This is certainly how Draft parties should be run; a weekend full of mates, fun and Fantasy. We’re ready to book our flights and get our mates together for next year.
