First-year Demon Bayley Fritsch is among three dropped for Anzac Day Eve

MELBOURNE has reacted savagely to its 67-point loss to Hawthorn last round, dropping Sam Frost, Tom Bugg and young forward Bayley Fritsch for the Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond at the MCG on Tuesday night.

Veteran defender Jordan Lewis (broken hand) has also been ruled out of the game against the Tigers, with the Demons recalling Jayden Hunt, Billy Stretch, Dom Tyson and Sam Weideman.

The speedy Hunt will return to the team after a two-week stint in the VFL, while Tyson missed last weekend's game against the Hawks with gastro.

Weideman and Stretch will play their first games this season following encouraging performances for Casey in the VFL over the past fortnight.

The Tigers have been forced into making three changes to their side with premiership players Jack Graham (suspended), Nick Vlastuin (calf) and Josh Caddy (hamstring) all missing.

Premiership defender Nathan Broad has been selected for his first game of the season after he served a three-game club-imposed ban for distributing a photo of a topless woman online without her consent.

Excitable youngster Jack Higgins will play his second game at AFL level following on from his two-goal debut match against Hawthorn in round three, while Sam Lloyd has also been brought in.

Important Essendon small forward Orazio Fantasia has been sidelined by a calf injury and won't be available for Wednesday's Anzac Day blockbuster against Collingwood.

Jackson Merrett, after booting five goals for Essendon's VFL team a fortnight ago, is Fantasia's replacement.

The Magpies go into the game against the Bombers with an unchanged lineup, following an impressive 48-point victory over Adelaide in round four.

Collingwood has already ruled out star Magpies Darcy Moore, Taylor Adams and Jamie Elliott for the Anzac Day game, with the real possibility the hamstrung trio could also miss Sunday's clash with Richmond.
