WESTERN Bulldogs forward Tory Dickson will spend up to six weeks on the sidelines after scans revealed significant damage to his troublesome hamstring.

The 30-year-old succumbed again to the injury late in the first quarter of Saturday afternoon's 49-point loss to Melbourne, with scans confirming the strain.

Club medical services manager Chris Bell told westernbulldogs.com.au the premiership forward would miss a significant period with his latest mishap.

Dickson first injured his hamstring in the round six loss to Fremantle and missed the following five weeks before returning round 10.

"This is the same hamstring he damaged in the round five Fremantle game," Bell said.

"We’re going to have to be conservative in Tory’s reload in rehab this time and we expect him to miss the next five to six weeks."

Wingman Bailey Dale is making progress from a foot-stress injury, but isn’t expected to return for at least the next four to five weeks.

The 21-year-old complained of soreness following the loss to Collingwood a fortnight ago, and he will be further assessed next week.

"Once he comes out of the moon boot, we'll progressively reload his running and monitor his symptoms, and this will give us a more accurate idea of his return-to-play plan," Bell said.

In better news for the Dogs, defender Zaine Cordy is expected to be available to line up against Port Adelaide after the Dogs' bye this weekend.

"Following his concussion against Collingwood, Zaine didn’t quite tick all of our boxes in time for main training last Thursday," Bell said.

"He's come in really well this week and we’ll assess him as the week goes on.

"At this stage we fully expect him to come back into full training next week ahead of the Port Adelaide game."

Injury-prone key defender Marcus Adams will also need to pass a fitness on a corked calf to be in contention for his first senior game of the season.

The 24-year-old has had a horror run with injury in his three seasons at Whitten Oval, with a pre-season ankle injury wiping out the first two months of his 2018 campaign, and serious foot injuries sidelined him for long periods in his first two seasons at the club.
