TOUGH Richmond midfielder Anthony Miles has been knocked out and stretchered off late in the VFL side's clash with Box Hill on Saturday afternoon at Punt Road Oval.

He was taken to hospital for precautionary measures but the early signs are that he is going well.

With the Tigers leading by 36 points in the final term, Miles was chasing a loose ball that had been handballed over his head.

He won the ball but almost immediately collided with a Hawk in an incident that looked completely accidental.

The 26-year-old lay motionless on the turf before he was carried off the field.

In scenes reminiscent from Thursday, when Reece Conca went down with an ankle injury in the AFL, every Tiger went to Miles to offer a pat of support.

Richmond went on to record a 14.11 (95) to 6.12 (48) victory.
