The former Brisbane Lions goalkicker played 24 games at the Bombers, but had hamstring issues this year after a broken foot last season.

The 25-year-old has been a pivotal player in the Bombers' VFL side's progression to the preliminary final and will play out the season at that level.

SEASON REVIEW Bombers rue what might have been

"Josh was a very well-liked member of the playing group and he performed well in his games for the club, showing leadership both on and off the field," coach John Worsfold said.

"Unfortunately, he was curtailed by injuries at crucial times but always stayed positive.

"We wish Josh all the best with his future endeavours."

Green has played 105 AFL games across his two clubs and booted 132 goals. He managed seven senior appearances this season.
