Adelaide Crows

If

we've been critical for much of 2018 ...

then

we don't back away from that. But this club, provided it secures a big name in Trade Period, can very quickly turn this mess around.

Brisbane Lions

If

the Lions do indeed land Neale ...

then

it is recruiting mastery. In the box seat as we speak.

Carlton

If

it is a constant worry that Cripps is exposed to a physical smashing every single match ...

then

recruiting Barlow to provide cover would go a long way to rectifying that.

Collingwood

If

there's one guy who wouldn't have slept a wink on Thursday night ...

then

it was Levi Greenwood. Surely thoughts of playing on Dusty resulted in more than the occasional nightmare.

Essendon

If

anyone in early 2016 predicted that delisted Cat Mitch Brown would still be on Essendon's list in 2019 ...

then

we're predicting they're a good liar.

Fremantle

If

you go hard at Hogan, Lobb and Kelly ...

then

you won't land them all but you might land one. Dockers need to get aggressive on so many levels.

Geelong Cats

If

for a variety of reasons you have managed just 51 matches (four in 2018) in eight seasons ...

then

you'll be elsewhere next year. Horlin-Smith to the Suns.

Gold Coast Suns

If

we keep saying it and it doesn't get refuted by the man himself ...

then

it's obviously getting real: Steven May out. Collingwood beautifully placed.

GWS Giants

If

all the talk has been on the potential exits ...

then

it must shift to the potential ins, too. Without some creative recruiting, 2019 will be no better than 2018.

Hawthorn

If

you are a proud football club and finish top four but go out in straight sets ...

then

the season is no better than a six out of 10

Melbourne

If

you've played 23 of 24 matches in your debut season ...

then

you are mightily unlucky to be axed for a prelim, Bayley Fritsch.

North Melbourne

If

the Josh and Dusty projects of 2017 taught this club one thing ...

then

it was to never again get overly excited about securing a big-name player from another club. That said, there are some people at the Roos starting to ponder a life with Andrew Gaff on the list.

Port Adelaide

If

Boak has been an outstanding captain for the past six years ...

then

now is the perfect time to cede power to Wines. Ollie is ready.

Richmond

If

Dusty is already entrenched as an all-time great ...

then

there's still a lot of scope to move up the pecking order. Six goals in a prelim would propel him up that list into really rare air.

St Kilda

If

Hannebery said during the week that the Saints' list wasn't as bad as most people thought ...

then

we know he meant it as a positive, but it could also be construed as yet another negative on the disastrous events of the 2018 season.

Sydney Swans

If

all the talk has been on the players wanting out ...

then

it needs to partially shift back to the club itself, which told Rohan it wanted to trade him out. These are interesting times at the Swans.

West Coast Eagles

If

the Optus Stadium stage is set for one player on Saturday afternoon ...

then

it is Josh Kennedy. He's permanently banged-up these days, but played a key role in the qualifying final win against the Pies, and the Dees won't be able to shut him out of the prelim.

Western Bulldogs

If

Wingard joins ...

then

the finals will be back on the cards for 2019.

If

it's 2018 and there's no way of ensuring that every single seat is guaranteed to be filled in the members' section of the MCG in blockbuster matches ...

then

it is time to get with the times and use technology.
