THE SONS of former stars Merv Neagle and Andrew Dunkley have emerged as possible rookie picks in this week's NAB AFL Draft for Essendon and Sydney respectively.
Matthew Neagle and Kyle Dunkley are eligible to be pre-selected as rookies if neither is picked in the national draft.
On Tuesday the AFL revealed the list of father-son eligible, club academy and next generation academy players ahead of this week's drafts.
A number of famous father-son pick-ups headline the group, with the sons of Billy Brownless, Stephen Silvagni and Scott West all being nominated by their prospective clubs.

Oscar Brownless (Geelong), Ben Silvagni (Carlton) and Rhylee West (Western Bulldogs) have been nominated along with Will Kelly, son of Craig (Collingwood), a defender projected to be picked near the top-30 of the draft.
The Kangaroos could have two father-son selections after Bailey Scott, the son of Robert, chose North as his preferred club over Geelong. He was also eligible to join Gold Coast as an academy player.
North has also nominated Joel Crocker, son of Darren, as a father-son pick-up. The 191cm forward/midfielder missed most of the season with a syndesmosis sprain in his ankle.
The Magpies have first access to potential top-15 selection Isaac Quaynor, who is tied to their next generation academy, while North Melbourne has first dibs on Tarryn Thomas, who could go as a top-10 selection, with a rival club likely to place a bid on the talented midfielder.
The Eagles have nominated Jarrod Cameron, brother of Brisbane's Charlie, as an NGA player, while Hawthorn could select exciting forward Irving Mosquito.
Sydney has nominated Nick Blakey, son of John, as a member of its academy after it beat North Melbourne for his services, while Greater Western Sydney looks likely to select one of the best young ruckman available in the draft, Kieren Briggs, given he is a member of its academy.
