THE WESTERN Bulldogs have locked away another pillar of their forward line, agreeing to new terms with former No.2 draft pick Josh Schache.

Already contracted for 2020, Schache has inked an extension at the Whitten Oval until the end of 2022.

It comes less than a month after the Dogs landed Josh Bruce on a four-year deal from St Kilda, while fellow key tall Aaron Naughton has a contract until 2024.

Drafted to Brisbane in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft, Schache has played 27 games at the Dogs since crossing ahead of 2018.

"I've loved my time at the Bulldogs over the last two years and had no hesitation in wanting to extend my contract with the club," Schache, 22, told the club's website.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed working on my game and trying to make an impact for the team, and I look forward to continuing my development over the next few years.

"We have a talented young group, and I'm excited about what we might be able to achieve together in the future."

After a four-goal performance in round two this year, Schache was dropped a fortnight later and returned with a solid end to the campaign with 19 majors in his final 10 games.
