The West Coast Eagles is a dynamic organisation who prides itself on its core values.  We currently have an exciting opportunity to join this dynamic environment within our Marketing team in the role of Business Development Manager – Advertising. The successful candidate will play an important leading role in commercialising the club’s various key advertising properties, including partnerships, digital and match day assets. Reporting to the Manager Business Development, this role will have a primary focus on generating new business and leveraging existing business towards the clubs key advertising assets including the club website, Eagle Vision television show, social media channels and match day video scoreboard and signage. The role will have a high level of autonomy in managing its own advertising, digital and new business strategy while also providing support to the Manager Business Development. The successful applicant will also be required to identify and engage new prospects with a view to develop and convert into new club partners.

Further responsibilities of the role include:

  • Generate additional advertising sales through upselling existing portfolio of club corporate clients and by canvassing industry categories for new sales, including your own network of contacts.
  • Highlight key growth areas and identify prospects to develop into official partners, including the preparation and delivery of targeted and customised presentations, and roll out of strategic negotiations.
  • Engage advertising and media agencies, and other key sources to generate ongoing media sales.
  • In collaboration with the Communications team, optimise the clubs extensive digital platforms for new revenue opportunities, including product integration, on-location filming, program branding and sponsorship.
  • Coordinate the roll out of commercial content between the client and the clubs production and communication team.
  • Manage and leverage a number of key partner accounts.

 

The successful candidate will have an established client base and a minimum of 5 years proven experience working within a digital marketing, advertising sales and/or business development role, as well as a strong understanding of various digital platforms and strategies for commercialisation. This role also requires excellent communication skills, strategic thinking and planning skills, a high level of attention to detail, project management skills, an ability to manage budgets, a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work within a team. Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications or a business related discipline will be highly regarded alongside a strong knowledge of the West Coast Eagles and the AFL.

There is a requirement for all full time staff to assist on match days and other events as required by the club, which includes weekends.  The remuneration and benefits provided factor in this requirement.
