Siposs was delisted by St Kilda at the end of 2015 and spent time in the VFL following that before receiving an offer from Auburn University to join its college football team as a punter in 2017.

The 27-year-old had one more year of college eligibility remaining, but he will forego that in the hope of joining an NFL team.

"Auburn has provided me with opportunities and experiences I could not have dreamed of. I have been so proud to put on my Auburn jersey and walk onto the field with an amazing group of men," Siposs said in a statement posted on Twitter.

Siposs hopes to follow in the steps of Ben Graham, Saverio Rocca, Chris Bryan, Joel Wilkinson and Cameron Johnson as ex-AFL players to earn a contract with an NFL team.

Ex-Tigers Ben Griffiths and Ben Lennon are currently trying their hands in the NCAA system as punters too.

Griffiths joined the University of Southern California, while Lennon made the University of Utah roster in 2018.

Siposs played 28 games for the Saints across five seasons.
