West Coast welcomed a very special visitor to club headquarters this afternoon.

The star of the Australian box office hit Red Dog, Koko, visited Patersons Stadium with his owner and the film’s producer Nelson Woss.

No one draws a crowd quite like Red Dog, and the club’s reception area was quickly filled with players and staff who wanted to meet the famous red cloud kelpie.

After posing for photos and shaking a few hands, Koko ran up the players’ race and out onto the oval, proudly donning his West Coast Eagles scarf.

Nelson said Koko trained for two years in preparation for the film which has a special link to the club.

“We’re all massive West Coast supporters and included the song “Eagle Rock” in the film,” Nelson said.

“We’re also Subiaco locals, so if we’re not at the game, we love hearing the roar of the crowd when the Eagles kick a goal.

“I think we’re a good chance to beat Collingwood this weekend and we want to wish the boys all the best for the finals series.”
